Mercury Air Cargo Announces New (and Returning) Clientele to the Fold

Mercury Air Cargo is pleased to announce they recently commenced services with Philippine Airlines for import and export, as of May 2017.

“That is a fairly significant win for us because they've been with the same ground handler for over 35 years,” said John Peery, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President for Mercury Air Cargo.

“For us to secure them was an accolade to the level of service our company provides in the air freight business here in Los Angeles,” Peery said.

Another partnership formed with Mercury Air Cargo comes with Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines, who will commence services from Los Angeles on June 27, beginning with three services a week and eventually going to six services a week by December. This carrier is known for its involvement with China’s e-commerce business. “We’re very excited to see their flights commencing,” Peery said, noting that this is another Chinese carrier adding to the growth between China and the United States, “which is fairly crowded skies now,” he joked.

Mercury Air Cargo has also been successful in securing FedEx Trade, the freight forwarding division of Federal Express, as a returning customer.  The company had been with Mercury in 2016 and 2015, but had decided to consolidate with another provider in recent months. Now, they’re back to us, Peery said, and Mercury will provide the CFS (container freight station) business for them.

Also returning, FinnAir began its seasonal operations with Mercury Air Cargo out of San Francisco in May. The airline will run services from San Francisco to Helsinki through approximately October.
